The best adjustable bench for the dollar?

Before diving in, I would like you to know that I don’t get paid for this bench review from either of the companies that I mention below.

Last year, I was on-the-hunt for a high quality adjustable bench for my garage-gym that I would be using not only for myself but for my clients as well.

Initially, I purchased two of the Buzz-Saw adjustable benches from Bells of Steel as they appeared to be quite well-built (at least in the photos). Once I assembled them though, I was quite disappointed with the overall quality. The benches lacked stability and the welding and fabrication was less than desirable. To their credit though, Bells of Steel gave me a refund, apologized, and told me that those benches were rushed to market without proper quality control. They immediately stopped selling the benches and took my feedback into consideration and now have a Buzz-Saw 2.0 on their website. Even though they seem to have improved the Buzz-Saw, I certainly don’t recommend it as the price is ridiculously high for what you are getting.

After dealing with the Buzz-Saw debacle I did a much more thorough search for a high-quality yet affordable adjustable bench which led me to the AB-3100 sold by Rep Fitness. What stood out to me about the AB-3100 was that it had many great reviews, appeared very well-built and refined (compared than many other benches), and was being sold at a substantially lower price than the Buzz-Saw.

After watching a YouTube video review of the AB-3100 (I can’t remember which video it was otherwise I would give credit) I read some of the comments below and discovered that the Gearforfit G3 adjustable bench was the same bench (they are built in the same factory) but was being sold in Canada at a reduced price.

Being that I live in Canada and was happy to pay less for the same bench I ordered one. Upon receiving it I was so pleased with the quality, fit and finish that I ordered a second one.

Below is a video review that I did of the Gearforfit G3 adjustable bench last year.

I have now been using this bench for a year with my clients on a daily basis and I have to say that I am quite impressed with how it has held up!

If you are looking for a high quality bench for your home or garage-gym then I still recommend this bench as I have had absolutely zero issues with it even though it has undergone a fair amount of use.

At the time of publishing this post the G3 adjustable bench from Gearforfit sells for $289 Canadian and is identical (other than the storage support, see the video for details) to the Rep Fitness AB-3100 bench which sells for $331 Canadian.

I hope this helps you with your adjustable bench purchasing decision!
